Clip link troubleshooting

Medal Clip Link Not Working?

Check whether the URL was copied correctly, then separate temporary browser problems from clips that are private, expired, or removed.

Fast diagnosis

Test the link without your signed-in session

Open the Medal URL in a private or incognito window. This shows what a public visitor can access without using your existing cookies. If the clip plays there, copy the address again and retry the downloader.

  1. Confirm the address begins with https://medal.tv/ and contains a clip identifier.
  2. Remove text or punctuation that a chat app added after the URL.
  3. Open the clean link in a private window.
  4. If it plays publicly, paste that exact browser address into Fragbeam.
Permanent causes

Private, deleted, and expired clips

A private clip requires the owner’s authorized session. A deleted clip no longer has a public page or media source. Temporary share links can also expire after the period chosen by the source platform.

Fragbeam intentionally does not bypass those states. Ask the owner to publish or share the clip again, or recover the original local recording if it is your own content. Changing the URL or browser cannot restore media removed at the source.

Temporary causes

Browser, network, or source errors

A valid public page can still fail temporarily if Medal is slow, changes its page markup, or returns an incomplete response. Network filters, privacy tools, and managed-device policies can also block media hosts.

  1. Reload the original clip page and confirm playback works.
  2. Wait a minute, then retry once rather than repeatedly submitting the same link.
  3. Disable only the site-specific blocking rule you control; do not bypass browser security warnings.
  4. Try another personal network or browser if the source page itself fails.
Common questions

Medal Clip Link Not Working? FAQ

Can an expired Medal link be recovered?

Not from the expired URL. The owner needs to create a new share link or use the original local clip.

Why does the link work for me but not in incognito mode?

Your signed-in session may have private access. Fragbeam supports pages available publicly without those credentials.

What does unsupported host mean?

The URL is not from an exact supported medal.tv hostname. Lookalike and redirected domains are rejected for safety.
